1. We believe who you are becoming is more important than where you're going.
At OneLife we know in order to grow in character you must first truly examine who you are becoming. In fact, we think it’s more valuable to focus on who you are becoming rather than where you are going. This is the idea of character before career.
Google recently released this statement.
“The seven top characteristics of success at Google are all soft skills: being a good coach; communicating and listening well; possessing insights into others (including others different values and points of view); having empathy toward and being supportive of one’s colleagues; being a good critical thinker and problem solver; and being able to make connections across complex ideas.”
2. Once you know who you are becoming, you can clarify your calling.
The more we grow in God, and learn about His world, we can clarify our purpose in it. Whether you are so clear on where God is calling you to be, or you have no clue at all, when you conform to the patterns of the Kingdom of God, you will discern your place in the will of God.
3. We believe who you surround yourself with will shape you for the rest of your life.
Without a deep community we cannot grow in character and calling. God designed us to grow in character and calling in deep community. The people you surround yourself with, is one of the most important things you will ever do. We bring 24 students together for 9 months to grow in Christ with others.
4. Our goal is to help often distracted lives be fixated on the only reason to live.
It’s become a pattern of this world to substitute connecting over Facebook, texting and snapchat for deep community. It’s imperative we do not stop meeting with other believers to encourage one another.
